Silverdale Holiday Centre About the Silverdale Centre
Silverdale Holiday Centre

The village of Silverdale is situated near Arnside and Carnforth on the boundary between Lancashire and Cumbria, and was designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1972. Its limestone hills, salt marsh, foreshore fen, parkland and woodlands have contributed towards the area being designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and a Biological Heritage Site and Local Nature Reserve.

Silverdale Holiday Centre is situated within this beautiful part of the British Isles and is popular with nature lovers, holiday makers and visitors alike. The centre has a range of rooms for accommodation from the dormitories to double and twin rooms with separate showers and bathrooms. Silverdale Holiday Centre can accommodate over 50 people and is fully DDA compliant. The property has a fully equipped kitchen

and dining room, and large rooms that can be used for a variety of activities. Silverdale Holiday Centre overlooks Morecambe Bay enjoying spectacular views and amazing sunsets.

With small indoor heated swimming pool, several designated play areas and lots of space, views and sea breezes, Silverdale is a wonderful facility. For six months of the year, Silverdale is a noisy, boisterous and lively place full of laughter and fun. When the centre is not in use for the Leeds Children’s Holiday Camp Association, the facilities are available for use by the general public. Silverdale is an excellent facility for schools, scout and guide groups, ramblers, caravan clubs, youth groups, Duke of Edinburgh Awards groups, outdoor pursuit fans, nature lovers and vintage car enthusiasts, already taking advantage of the excellent accommodation, full kitchen facilities, delightful surroundings and wonderful seaside views.

The hire of Silverdale Holiday Centre is at very reasonable rates and full details can be obtained from the Leeds office (please see details below). Click here for the 2009 costs and booking form.

There are many local attractions surrounding Silverdale Holiday Centre including Leighton Moss (the RSPB site where the Bittern can be seen), Leighton Hall, Arnside Pele Tower, Queen Victoria’s Jubilee Memorial, and Cove House where Charlotte Bronte once stayed. There is an excellent train service to Grange over Sands, Cumbria and Kendal, Carnforth and Lancaster for more interesting visits and sites.
